cannon beach sunday night times
We’re cool and our shirts are breezy in foggy Cannon Beach while the rest of the Pacific Northwest is still baking in August sunshine. A significant proportion of Pugetopolis purports to thrive on the heat hazy days of August and September to tide them over for winter. But for me, the tangy salt air and mist this morning was the perfect antidote to my summer blues. If Seattle has more than two weeks of sunshine, I start to feel ill at ease. Adam and I are relaxing in our oceanfront room at Schooner’s Cove Inn while his mother walks several blocks to Pizza a Fetta to pick up dinner. He and I worked really hard on a sand sculpture all afternoon that drew a lot of attention, everyone thought I was a sand sculptor celebrity because of the lexan shovel I brought along that doubles as my wintertime/snowshoe emergency digger. A lady from Nebraska asked me if it was specially designed for making sand sculptures, hahaha! Explaining that it was a snow shovel only added to the exoticism.
