Earlier this summer when we were preoccupied with the impending arrival of Oliver Fern, Adam and Grandma emptied all our sunflower seed packets around the yard. I can’t vouch for their methodology: For two or three days afterward it was a bird convention in our yard as anything with wings (or big fluffy tails) ravenously feasted. But a few pockets of sunflower plant-life survived. This picture is for Grandma’s benefit, so she knows her efforts were not in vain….
