hanakapiai falls and creek

This is Hanakap-Numerous-Confusing-Vowels Falls on Kauai. It’s one of the most beautiful places on the planet. But after two years in a row hiking the Na Pali coast while Seattle can see the reflection of it’s breath in the puddles on the ground, I’m having the feeling this winter is going to seem a little longer. We aren’t going to Kauai next month. Diana’s maternity leave ends on Thursday next week. I’m back to full-time Mr. Mom. I’m excited. Pretty nervous, but excited. I’ve done it once, I think I can do it again.

I like sunshine, but really- I like cold, rainy winters, too. Just not the November part.

I shot this scene with a neutral density filter. No need for a CPL……Kauai is naturally fluorescent.

  1. Get use to it… Kids continue to put a damper on our travel plans as they get older also! If we travel next summer it will mean leaving (by then…) 17 and 20 year old sons to “watch” the house. At least we live in a brick home and they can’t totally burn it to the ground! 🙂 BTW, this is a beautiful capture… Kauai is still a location that Donna and I keep discussing for our 25th wedding anniversary.
