the mos eisley cantina pop-up book

Adam and I found The Mos Eisley Cantina Pop-Up Book (1995) this afternoon at a used bookstore on Capitol Hill. There’s actually only one pop-up page (that’s a good thing because in my experience pop-up books are always fun to look at but they never hold together well)- at the very end you’ll find a detailed scene from the Cantina. You can press a button to hear an electronically googly version of Figrin D’an and his band! When Adam and I played the song a few times for amusement, a clerk in the store hopped around the corner with a big grin on her face, excited we’d discovered her favorite new book in the store.  The Mos Eisley Cantina Pop-Up Book was illustrated by the legendary Ralph McQuarrie. And there are some fairly interesting vignettes of obscure characters like Momaw Nadon (Hammerhead) and Wuher (the bartender)……

Interestingly, Kevin J. Anderson co-wrote some of the Dune prequels (I just bought the original Dune, I’m not that familiar with all the other Dune books).

Today, Adam told me I eat too much ice cream.
