adam at shi shi
This is a little collage I made of Adam from the hike we did to Point of the Arches. Lately I’ve been farting around with Photoshop which basically means I’m learning how to do things a third grader could figure out. I don’t know if it’s the cumulative effect of all the automobile exhaust I’ve breathed in and the peanut butter I’ve consumed during the course of my lifetime but I’m embarrassed by how long it takes me to figure out stuff on the computer. I like problem solving at things that are hard for me (like computers) but I only have so much leisure time. It’s not worth it to me to spend three hours figuring out how to save a file to a quantum hyper-black hole folder. But goshdangitall, what is WRONG with me?
I worked my fanny off this morning on the english laurel and holly hedges that separate our house from the neighbors, downhill. Every year and a half I go gonzo pruning these leafy green monsters. I’m reminded of the time He-Man did battle with Evil Seed! In the Pacific Northwest, they’re like hedges on steroids. You really don’t have to know anything about pruning, you could whack’em with a chainsaw and they’d still grow back six feet in a year. Adam helped me with my work. He was most excited that I pruned part of the hedge from his bedroom window upstairs (we are strange folk). He did make my job harder, requiring me to fill his Tonka dump truck 29 times with loads precisely trimmed to fit into his dumper. But I adore how he always wants to go outside with me and hang out.
Tomorrow if the weather is decent, Adam and I may day-trip someplace out on the Olympic Peninsula not too far from the ferry. I dunno……or maybe we’ll just stay home.
