dishmop at owyhigh lakes
Adam and I went for a charming hike through the Owyhigh Lakes basin. It was a one-way walk (we arranged a shuttle) 8.8 miles from the White River to the Ohanapecosh side of MRNP. This is a trip I’d been curious about for a long time. Since it was late in the day, we had the meadows and lakes all to ourselves! The views here may not pack the punch of nearby places like Summerland, but I was tickled by what we found. I’d like to come back someday and do a little mellow off-trail exploration on the Tamanos Mountain-side of the lakes.
This is Adam at the lakes shortly before we departed via the Kotsuck Valley (I have a hard time saying Kotsuck with a straight face). We barely beat dusk! And the rain really got us good at the end.
