the 5.75 year old is uniquely equipped with folding wings that can be recessed in order to maneuver at high speeds over alpine terrain such as Sheep Lake
Day two of kindergarten went smoothly. Nothing overly dramatic to report except Adam got an ice pack from the nurse after he bashed the bridge of his nose on his cubbie. And he’s still a little disenchanted at the shortness of recess.
I like this picture most of all because it’s candid. The heat reflected off the dusty trail was fairly toasty in the afternoon but this was one of the nicer days I’ve hiked this summer. There was always a wonderful alpine breeze. Maybe I simply felt more refreshed than usual because I was hiking slow enough for Adam, I dunno. At any rate, this is the southerly view of Sheep Lake from Sourdough Gap. Even the hike up to Sourdough Gap is quite easy (if you do it as an out-and-back I believe it puts you a tad over a thousand feet of elevation gain for the day).
